Islamabad. Amidst the ongoing unrest in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, Aman Khan, the leader of the Joint Awami Action Committee, has demanded good relations with India. He has said that after strict action on protests, Pakistan’s capital Islamabad has imposed economic blockade in this area. The leader of the Joint Awami Action Committee has appealed to New Delhi to send aid and open the border on the Line of Control.

Let us tell you that in a video going viral on social media, Khan was heard saying that we need India’s help. We are short of rations and we need your help. In this video he claimed that the people of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir are facing shortage of food items and medicines. Because local security forces have intensified action against the protesters, which has created a serious threat.

Appealed to open Line of Control

While addressing the crowd at Idgah ground, Aman Khan asked people to move towards the Line of Control, to which the crowd repeatedly replied that they should move towards him. He warned that if the officers respond to people’s demands with bullets, they have other options as well. The Joint Awami Action Committee leader also demanded opening of LOC in Poonch and Doda sectors. However, this video could not be confirmed. Experts have said that the current political crisis in PoK shows the huge gap between the local people there and the weak regional administration. The administration here is completely under Islamabad. Let us tell you that the unrest in PoK increased further when Pakistani authorities declared JAAC illegal on June 5 and termed this grassroots organization as a terrorist organization.

A recent report by the International Center for Peace Studies has revealed that Islamabad has been maintaining political control over this area through Pakistan’s mainstream parties for a long time. Apart from this, these parties have been in power for the last ten years. According to the report, the ruling party in Islamabad has been continuously winning elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
