Why are the prices of petrol and diesel increasing?
Petrol and diesel prices in India completely depend on the international prices of crude oil. The exchange rate of dollar and rupee also has a deep and direct impact on these oil prices. Every state has its own VAT, hence fuel prices are different in every city of the country.
Earlier on Friday, government oil companies had increased the prices of petrol and diesel by a huge Rs 3 per litre. After about 4 years, such a big and shocking change has been seen in the fuel prices. Earlier, prices were increased in April 2022 and there was a slight cut of Rs 2 per liter in March 2024 before the elections.
