Pharma plant worth Rs 1,250 crore in Barabanki! More than 2,000 youth will get employment, cancer medicines will be made

Barabanki/Lucknow, Read: A major step was taken on Wednesday towards making the state a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub. Bhoomi pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony of Biogenta Global's pharmaceutical project worth Rs 1250 crore took place at Barabanki Medical Park. In this factory to be built on about 13 acres, anti-cancer medicines along with human hormones and other important life-saving medicines will be manufactured. The project is expected to provide employment to more than 2000 youth.

In the Bhoomi Pujan program, FSDA Commissioner Roshan Jacob said that along with taking action against fake and illegal medicines, the department is also working on promoting quality medicine manufacturing in the state. He informed that during the recent National Pharma Conclave held in Lucknow, Letter of Comfort (LOC) was given to 17 units. Biogenta is the first unit to start work at the site. He expressed hope that other companies will also reach the bhoomi pujan and construction stage soon. Of these, seven units have started production and the process of their subsidy will be started soon.

Presence in 35 countries, Biogenta will set up a new factory in UP

Biogenta Global MD Deepnarayan Sharma said that the company has presence in 35 countries. After getting 13 acres of land in Barabanki Medical Park, the company decided to set up a new factory here. He said that cancer medicines, hormones and other life-saving medicines will be manufactured in the plant. The company aims to provide employment to more than 2000 youth of UP along with quality medicines.

Investments started coming on the ground after Pharma Conclave

Representatives from leading companies including Sun Pharma, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's, Zydus Cadila, Mankind Pharma, Torrent Pharma and Dabur participated in the National Pharma Conclave. After this, LOCs were issued to 17 companies. Many officials including Minister of State for MSME Hansraj Vishwakarma, UPSIDA CEO Balkar Singh and Advisor to the Chief Minister GN Singh were present in the program.
