Not standing in a long line at the counter, now e-ticket on the phone! Visiting Visva Bharati's Heritage Walk is going to be easier with e-tickets since Puja. As a result, Santiniketan is going to get a chance to visit Rabindranath's memorial house, traditional buildings, museum in one ticket. Visva Bharati is going to introduce not only the change in the ticketing system, but also the barcode system to bring a new touch of technology in the tourism system. The tender process for launching e-tickets has already started in the university.
Santiniketan, steeped in the memory of Rabindranath, has always been an emotional attraction for tourists. Due to that emotion, many people come from home and abroad every day. But waiting at counters, crowds and timing for Heritage Walk tickets often hampered the tourist experience. Now that picture is going to change. After puja, you can buy e-tickets in advance and reach the door of Visva Bharati's heritage at your home. On the one hand, there are individual attraction tickets, while on the other hand, there are combo tickets for visiting five places together. There is also a special discount for students. To avoid any dispute about the authenticity of the ticket, there is a plan to use barcode on each e-ticket. In other words, the experience of seeing Rabindra-tradition is being joined with modern technology. Five houses used by Kabiguru Udayan, Udichi, Konark, Shyamoli and Punsch are being opened for tourists. There is the Rabindra Bhavan Museum, where various items used by the poet, manuscripts and replicas of Nobel medals are preserved.
Shantiniketan House and Kalabhavan Museum are also in the Darshan-Parva. Currently, the general ticket price for the Heritage Walk is Tk 300 per head. 50 rupees for group students and 150 rupees for single students. Ticket price for foreign tourists is Rs.1000. A maximum of 25 tourists can enter in a group. Although the tickets are available from the counter of Rabindra Bhavan Museum, now the doors of online booking are going to be opened. 'Light and Sound' is planned to be operational from January 1, 2027. Praveer Kumar Ghosh, vice-chancellor of Visva Bharati said, “It was planned for many days. It is about to become a reality. It was decided to launch e-tickets before Puja, but it could not be done. E-tickets will be launched after Puja. The tender process is also going on.”
