Satyen Chaturvedi himself has given this information through social media. He shared a post on Instagram explaining that he had played the role of Sumantra for the film but his scenes shot did not become a part of the final film. The actor wrote in his post that not all the scenes that an artiste shoots necessarily reach the final screen. It's part of the filmmaking process and the artists' journey. His character has been edited in Ramayan, directed by Nitish Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra.
However, despite his entire role being cut from the film, Satyen Chaturvedi did not appear disappointed. He said in his post that it was a wonderful experience for him to be selected for an important character of the Indian epic and to be a part of a film of such a large scale. He also expressed his gratitude to casting director Mukesh Chhabra who gave him the opportunity to work in this film. According to the actor, even though the scenes he shot did not reach the audience, the memories and experiences related to this film will always remain with him.
Now the question is why the character of Sumantra is considered so important in Ramayana. Actually, in the story of Ramayana, Sumantra was one of the eight chief ministers of King Dasharatha. He held an important position in the royal court of Ayodhya and was considered a trusted advisor of Maharaja Dasharatha. Sumantra has also played an important role in the context of Lord Ram's exile. He became the charioteer of the chariot that took Ram and Sita to the forest. In such a situation, it is interesting for the audience to know why such an important character could not find a place in the final version of the film.
Talking about the success of the film, Ramayan has earned more than Rs 100 crore in the first two days of its release. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, actors like Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Sheeba Chaddha are also seen in important roles in the film. Apart from this, Hanuman Chalisa heard in the voice of Diljit Dosanjh has also become a topic of discussion among the audience.
The film's music is composed by Oscar-winning composers AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The first part of Ramayana has been released while the audience will have to wait till the year 2028 for the second part. Now it has to be seen how the story is taken forward in the next part and whether an important character like Sumantra gets a place in it.
