Why will the new installment of PM-Kisan be released from West Bengal?

This time the Prime Minister will give this gift to the farmers from Tarakeshwar in Hooghly district of West Bengal. For the Central Government, this program is not only being considered as a distribution of financial assistance, but also a message of direct access of schemes to the farmers. During the program, ‘PM Kisan Utsav Diwas’ will also be celebrated across the country.

How much amount will come into the account of every farmer?

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, an annual assistance of Rs 6,000 is given to eligible farmers in three equal installments. Under the 23rd installment, Rs 2,000 will be transferred to the accounts of farmers. According to the government, an amount of more than Rs 4.28 lakh crore has been given to the farmers since the beginning of the scheme.

More than 44 lakh farmers of Bengal will get benefit

This time West Bengal is in the news the most. About Rs 885 crore will be sent to the accounts of about 44.42 lakh farmers of the state. The Center says that earlier many eligible farmers were not able to avail the benefits of the scheme due to the documents and verification process not being completed. Now after completion of the necessary processes, a large number of farmers are expected to get benefits for the first time or regularly.

Rs 1,634 crore will go into the accounts of farmers of Madhya Pradesh

About 81.67 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh will get the benefit of this installment. Rs 1,634.88 crore will be transferred to the accounts of farmers of the state. Till now, farmers of Madhya Pradesh have received assistance of more than Rs 33 thousand crore under PM-Kisan scheme.

Why is this money important before Kharif farming?

The months of June and July are considered the most important time for farmers. Before sowing paddy, maize, soybean, pulses and other Kharif crops, farmers need cash for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and labour. In such a situation, this installment of Rs 2,000 can prove helpful for small and marginal farmers in meeting the initial expenses.

Government keeping an eye on El Nino and weak monsoon

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that the government is alert about the challenges related to possible El Nino and monsoon. A special strategy is being prepared for 197 sensitive districts of the country. In this, work is being done on promoting low water crops, alternative crop planning, providing seeds and strengthening agricultural management at the local level.

Relief for pulse producers also

The government has approved the purchase of moong, lentils and urad at MSP in Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. With this, farmers will be able to get the benefit of minimum support price even in case of falling prices in the market.
