PM Modi Australia Visit: Prime Minister Modi will visit Australia in 2026, big meeting will be held in Melbourne, will also meet Indian expatriates
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Australia in July 2026. This tour will take place from July 8 to July 10, in which he will participate in the India-Australia Annual Leaders Summit in Melbourne. The Indian community living in Australia is very excited about this visit.
This Australia trip is part of a three-nation tour. Prime Minister Modi will first visit Indonesia from 6 to 8 July and then reach Australia. Immediately after the Australia tour, he will visit New Zealand from 10 to 11 July.
Main purpose of travel
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has invited Prime Minister Modi for this summit. There will be talks on increasing cooperation between the two countries in areas like trade, defence, security and technology. Important issues like cyber security, supply chain and critical minerals are expected to be discussed in this meeting. This visit will further strengthen India’s Act East Policy and vision of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

- Melbourne Arrival: Prime Minister Modi will reach Melbourne directly from Indonesia.
- Annual Summit: There will be an annual leaders summit between Prime Minister Albanese and Modi and both the leaders will hold bilateral talks.
- Meeting with the Governor General: PM Modi will meet Australia’s Governor General Sam Mostyn.
- Business Meeting: He will attend the India-Australia CEOs Forum and address big businessmen of both the countries.
- Communicating with migrants: He will have a special meeting with the people of the Indian community living in Melbourne.
- Sports events: Prime Minister Modi and Albanese will participate in a sporting event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Prime Minister’s Office of Australia have confirmed this visit. Australia’s High Commissioner to India Philip Green said that this visit will further improve relations between the two countries in the fields of defence, trade, energy and education.
