PM Modi had made a big announcement: 1 big good news for the employees
Kolkata. The coming days may prove to be a relief for the government employees of West Bengal. Among the promises made during the assembly elections, the most discussed issue is now the 7th Pay Commission. If the new government in the state takes steps in this direction, then a big increase in the salaries of lakhs of employees is possible.
During the election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had clearly said that if BJP government is formed in the state, then the formation of the 7th Pay Commission will be done on priority basis. This promise was among his major guarantees that he made before the voters of Bengal.
What was the whole promise?
At a public meeting in East Midnapore, Narendra Modi had said that the 7th Pay Commission would be implemented to give the state government employees the same pay structure as the Centre. This can provide relief to employees from long standing pay inequality.
What is the situation now?
At present the government employees of West Bengal are getting salaries based on the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission. This is the reason why there is a difference in the salaries of state and central employees. In such a situation, with the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, this difference can be reduced to a great extent.
From the trends so far, BJP seems to be forming the government in Bengal with full majority. Now everyone’s eyes are on the decisions of the new government. The biggest question is when will the 7th Pay Commission be constituted and how much time will it take for its recommendations to be implemented.
