PM Modi honored with Seychelles’ highest honor ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ by President Patrick Herminie

Victoria, June 28. On the second day of his three-day official visit to the East African country Seychelles, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the country’s highest honor ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ for his leadership in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development in Seychelles. President Dr. Patrick Hermini presented this decoration to PM Modi.

This honor is dedicated to the countries facing climate change.

PM Modi expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Seychelles for this honour. He dedicated this honor to all those countries who are facing the challenge of climate change and consider environmental protection as their responsibility for the coming generations.

Reiterating India’s commitment towards climate change, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘India is ready to take every necessary step to make our planet greener and sustainable. This is clearly reflected in our domestic policies, special emphasis on mission life and global initiatives like the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. This honor is an international recognition of Prime Minister Modi’s long-standing efforts for sustainable development and environmental protection and his vision of green development.

At the same time, in a joint statement after the exchange of various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries, Prime Minister Modi said, “Thank you to Dr. Patrick Hermini, the delegations and media colleagues of both the countries. I express my heartfelt gratitude to President Hermini for your warm welcome and hospitality. Being honored with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ honor is a matter of pride and joy for me and for the 140 crore Indians. I accept this honor with humility. Accepting this, I dedicate it to all those countries which are fighting the challenge of climate change and consider environmental protection as their responsibility towards future generations.
