PM Modi invited to Khamenei’s last tribute ceremony, President Pajeshkian gave special invitation

New Delhi/Tehran. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a special invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the last tribute and memorial ceremony of the late Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to diplomatic sources, this invitation has come at a time when preparations are going on for large-scale religious and government programs across the country in Khamenei’s honor.

According to the information, various programs will be organized from July 5 to July 9 to pay tribute to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. These include special religious and government ceremonies on July 5, 6 and 7 in the capital Tehran and the holy city of Qom. The last and biggest tribute program will be organized in Mashhad on July 9, where many prominent leaders and dignitaries from India and abroad are likely to arrive.

This invitation sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also considered important from the point of view of India-Iran relations. However, there has been no official response from the Government of India yet on this invitation. In such a situation, it is not clear whether Prime Minister Modi will attend this program or not.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was one of the most influential faces of Iran’s politics and religious leadership. He served as the supreme leader of the country for nearly three decades. This will be the first major international tribute ceremony after his death, in which top leaders of many countries of the world are expected to attend.

This invitation is being given special importance in diplomatic circles, as India and Iran have long-standing strategic, economic and cultural relations. Now everyone’s eyes are on what decision the Government of India takes on this invitation.
