Bonding of ‘Melody’ seen again in Rome, Meloni herself took PM Modi to Colosseum, traveled together in the car
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Italy on the last leg of his five-nation tour. Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni welcomed him warmly in the capital Rome. The meeting of the two leaders has once again become a topic of discussion on the international platform.

After reaching Rome, Prime Minister Modi and Georgia Meloni had dinner together. After this, Meloni himself took PM Modi on a tour of Rome’s historical and world famous heritage Colosseum. Both the leaders also traveled together by car. Pictures and videos of this period are becoming increasingly viral on social media.

While sharing pictures of the meeting on social media, Prime Minister Modi wrote that after reaching Rome, he got the opportunity to discuss over dinner with Prime Minister Meloni. He also visited the famous Colosseum. PM Modi said that many important global and bilateral issues were discussed between the two leaders and he is excited about the further formal discussions, which are aimed at further strengthening the friendship between India and Italy.

This is not the first time that pictures of Modi and Meloni have made headlines on the internet. Earlier, the “Good friends at COP28” selfie posted by Meloni during the COP28 conference held in Dubai in the year 2023 had gone viral. After this, during the G7 Summit held in Apulia, Italy in 2024, the video “Hello from Melody Team” also gained a lot of popularity on social media.

At the same time, Georgia Meloni also shared the picture of PM Modi’s welcome and wrote on X, “Welcome to Rome, my friend!” This post of his is also being discussed a lot on social media.
According to a senior official of the Ministry of External Affairs, this is the eighth meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Georgia Meloni since 2023. Relations between the two countries have continued to strengthen following Meloni’s visit to India in March 2023 and his participation in the G-20 summit held in New Delhi. During this visit, both the leaders will review the progress made under the “Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-29”. Apart from this, important decisions regarding defense cooperation, stopping terrorism funding and new strategic partnerships are also likely to be discussed.
