Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this is the first Diwali, when every district of the country is free from Naxalism and we are celebrating Diwali with you. He said that the entire credit for this goes to the sacrifice and dedication of the soldiers. Prime Minister Modi said he is celebrating Diwali with security personnel to honor their sacrifice in the fight against Naxalism.
PM Modi said that our government took decisions that dealt a severe blow to the funding of Naxalites and separatists. Due to the decisions of our government, the network of fake notes was destroyed and the supply chain of Naxalites and separatists was disrupted. For the first time in the last 47 years, no CRPF jawan lost his life in the line of duty in the last one year.
PM Modi said that this fight against Naxalism was not easy. There was a time when more than 230 districts in about 20 states of the country were in the grip of Naxalism. Life came to a standstill after evening. It became impossible for people to step out of their homes. The Naxalites had also snatched away the people's right to vote. Bihar-Maharashtra-Orissa, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, a large part of the country was in the grip of leftist extremism. Thousands of villages, population worth crores, faced up to two thousand Naxalite attacks in a year.

They have to be defeated and the country has to be secured.
