Whoever protests today will have to pay the price for a long time – PM Modi said in Lok Sabha on women’s reservation, 10 big things
PM Modi on Women’s Reservation Bill and Delimitation 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi women reservation and delimitation But gave an important statement in the Lok Sabha during the special three-day session of the Parliament. He said that this bill is a historic moment in India’s parliamentary democratic journey. This will set a new direction in the country’s politics. The Prime Minister said that those who protest today will have to pay the price for a long time.
speaking in lok sabha PM Modi Said that the women power of the country will never forgive the mistake of our intentions… I have come to you today to appeal that do not weigh this on the scales of politics… Today the whole country, especially the women power, will definitely see our decisions but more than the decisions, they will see our intentions. He said, “Today I want to say with full responsibility that there will be no discrimination with anyone. This decision process will not be unfair to anyone. The government that was in power earlier, the delimitation of seats that was done, and the ratio that has been running since then – all that will remain unchanged, and that ratio will remain the same.”
Big points of PM Modi’s speech
1- There are some moments in the life of a country, when the thinking and leadership ability of the society come together to create a historical legacy. This is also an important moment in India’s journey towards parliamentary democracy, which will lay a strong foundation for the years to come.
2- The idea of women’s reservation came up 25-30 years ago and should have been implemented only then, but now it has been brought in a mature form. The beauty of democracy is that changes keep happening from time to time as per the need. India is the ‘Mother of Democracy’. This decision will prove to add a new direction to thousands of years of democratic tradition.
3- I had said in the beginning that we all are fortunate to have got the opportunity to participate in such an important, nation-building process involving half of the country’s population… We MPs should not let this important opportunity slip away.
4- We Indians together are going to give a new direction to the country. We are going to make a meaningful effort to bring sensitivity in our governance system. It will not only shape the politics of the nation, but it will also decide the direction and condition of the country.
5- India is moving forward in the 21st century with a new confidence. Today we all feel the acceptance of India in the world. This is a proud moment for all of us.
6- I believe that ‘developed India’ does not just mean railways, roads, infrastructure, or economic or progress figures. We are not such narrow minded people about ‘developed India’. We want a ‘Developed India’ where the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is truly realized in policy-making. It is the need of the hour that 50% of the country’s population should be a part of policy-making.
7- We have already delayed it. Whatever may be the reasons for this, or whoever is responsible for it, we will have to accept this truth. I know that while this process was going on, discussions were held with all parties. Apart from one group, no one with whom we met expressed any principled opposition. Whatever may have happened later, a political direction is now being adopted.
8- I would also like to give an advice to those people who think only from political point of view. Ever since the discussion on women’s reservation started in our country, and in all the elections held since then, the women of the country have not forgiven anyone who has opposed this right of women.
9- In this new House in 2023, we unanimously accepted the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. There was an atmosphere of happiness in the entire country and there was no political color attached to it, hence it did not become a political issue. This is a good situation. Now the question is, for how long will we have to stop this?
10- Women’s reservation will be in favor of the democracy of the country, it will be in favor of the collective decision-making process of the country, and we all will get the credit for it. Neither the Finance Department nor Modi will be the sole beneficiaries of this, nor will all the people sitting here be the sole beneficiaries of this. I would like those who smell politics in this to examine their own views of the last 30 years and see if there is any benefit in this. I believe there is no need to give it any political color.”
