PM Modi New Zealand Visit: India-New Zealand relations reach new heights, aim to double trade by 2030

After the tour, relations between India and New Zealand have gained new strength. Both countries have set a target of raising mutual relations to the level of ‘Strategic Partnership’ and doubling bilateral trade by the year 2030.

Giving this information on social media platform He said that there is a plan to double the trade between the two countries by 2030, which will create new employment opportunities in New Zealand, increase people’s income and strengthen the economy.

Consensus reached on ‘Roadmap to 2030’

India and New Zealand agreed to adopt the ‘India-New Zealand Strategic Partnership: Roadmap to 2030’ keeping in mind the shared democratic values, strong people-to-people ties and common interests in the Indo-Pacific region. Under this roadmap, in the next four years both the countries will work together in many areas including defence, trade, investment, education, agriculture, technology and regional cooperation.

Trade target of 7 billion New Zealand dollars by 2030

Both the countries have set a target of increasing bilateral trade in goods and services to 7 billion New Zealand dollars (about Rs 35 thousand crore) by the year 2030. For this, it has also been agreed on regular high-level meetings and exchange of delegations.

18 major decisions and 10 MoUs signed

Many important achievements were achieved during Prime Minister Modi’s six-day foreign tour. The Prime Minister, who reached Auckland on the last leg of his visit, took part in various programmes. During this period, 18 major decisions and 10 important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the two countries, which will give a new direction to trade, investment and strategic cooperation.

Indian community honored in ‘Kia Ora Modi’ program

On Saturday, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon hosted a gala lunch in honor of Prime Minister Modi. After this, Prime Minister Modi attended the ‘Kia Ora Modi’ program, where the NRIs gave him a grand welcome. On this occasion, Prime Minister Luxon praised the role of the Indian community in New Zealand and said that Indians are contributing about 9 percent to the country’s economy through their hard work and entrepreneurship.

At the conclusion of the tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given farewell with state honours. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon hugged him and wished him good luck and waved him off. Both the leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen India-New Zealand relations in the future.
