PM Modi Odisha Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on Saturday, June 20, where he will gift development projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore to the state. This is an important opportunity for the state. Let us tell you that President Draupadi Murmu will also be present with him on this special occasion which will start from around 11:15 am. In which both the leaders will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many schemes related to tribal development, education, skill development and infrastructure during the programs organized in Paharpur and Rairangpur of Mayurbhanj district.

The projects being started in sectors like energy, roads, health, drinking water, tourism and irrigation are expected to give new impetus to the development of the state. The event, organized to commemorate the completion of two years of the Odisha government, is being considered an important political and developmental occasion for the state. The theme of this program is ‘Vikas Dhara, Odisha Sara’.

During the event, projects in key sectors including energy, industrial infrastructure, road connectivity, drinking water, health, education, tourism and irrigation will be inaugurated and foundation stones will be laid. These projects will strengthen infrastructure across Odisha, improve connectivity, enhance energy security and create employment opportunities. Reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive and holistic development, these initiatives will further accelerate development in tribal and rural areas and extend the benefits of development to every corner of the state.

Gift of development projects in Rairangpur

Let us inform that the major projects for which the foundation stone will be laid include 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project and Phase-II Expansion Project of IB Thermal Power Station, which will have two units of 660 MW. These projects will enhance energy security and promote economic growth in Odisha.

Apart from this, the foundation stone of Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) project at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda district will also be laid. This will promote clean utilization of domestic coal resources, reduce dependence on imports and create new industrial and employment opportunities in the region.

Development schemes started from Bhubaneswar

Along with this, the foundation stone of other projects to be laid include 300 TPD capacity source-separated municipal solid waste based compressed biogas plant at Bhubaneswar, bridge over Kathajodi river directly connecting Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, widening and strengthening of Dhalpur-Harbhanga road in Boudh district, four-laning of a section of NH-353 from Nuapada to Ghatipara, Kusumdihi Megalift Irrigation Project, IGNOU Regional Center and Indoor Badminton Complex at Rairangpur.

Focus on energy, roads and health projects

A 300-bed district headquarters hospital building at Boudh will also be inaugurated, along with 24 Atal bus stands and nine automated testing centers in various districts of Odisha. These projects are expected to strengthen healthcare and public transport infrastructure in the state.

Other important projects to be inaugurated include Nayagarh Town Bypass on NH-57, underground pipeline component of Kusumi Smart Irrigation Project, Jakhapura-Jajpur Keonjhar Road-Baitarani Road Multi-Tracking Project, Hindol Road-Meramandali Multi-Tracking Project, Sports Complex and Tribal Research Center at Rairangpur etc.
