PM Modi reached New Zealand, PM Christopher Luxon welcomed him with a hug, enthusiasm in the Indian community

Auckland, 10 July. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached New Zealand on Friday in the last leg of his three-nation foreign tour. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon welcomed him warmly and hugged him at Auckland Airport. During this period, India’s High Commissioner to New Zealand Muanpui Sayavi and many senior officials of both the countries were present. Sharing the video of the welcome on social media platform X, Prime Minister Luxon wrote, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, welcome to New Zealand.” At the same time, PM Modi also expressed his gratitude to Laxan for the warm welcome.

‘This visit is historic’

PM Modi wrote on X that he is grateful to Prime Minister Luxon for the warm welcome he received upon reaching Auckland. He said that this visit is historic because after almost 40 years, an Indian Prime Minister is visiting New Zealand. He expressed hope that the talks with Prime Minister Luxon will give new strength to India-New Zealand relations.

Indian community gave cultural welcome

The Indian community in Auckland welcomed Prime Minister Modi with traditional cultural presentations. The artists participating in the program said that they are very excited about the arrival of an Indian Prime Minister after 40 years. One participant said that it was a matter of pride and honor for him to perform before the Prime Minister on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. At the same time, another artist described it as a once in a lifetime opportunity and said that presenting Indian culture and heritage to Prime Minister Modi is a memorable moment for him.

Will address the Indian community today

Prime Minister Modi will address a special program of the Indian community organized in Auckland on Saturday. Additionally, he will also have bilateral talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, in which many important issues including trade, investment, education, defense and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region are likely to be discussed.
