Paris, June 18. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Paris on Thursday morning after successful meetings at the G-7 summit in Evian, France. The Indian community there welcomed him warmly. The Prime Minister said he is proud of the efforts of the Indian community in bringing India and France closer to each other. He also said that India-France partnership is very important for the progress of our world.
After reaching Paris, Prime Minister Modi shared some pictures on his official social media platform ‘X’. In these pictures he was seen meeting Indian citizens. PM Modi wrote in his post, “A short time ago I reached Paris, where the Indian community welcomed me warmly. I am proud of their efforts to bring India and France closer. India-France partnership is very important for the progress of our world.”
Earlier, regarding the G-7 Summit, Prime Minister Modi said, “Many important meetings and conversations took place during the G-7 Summit in Evian. I got the opportunity to present India’s views and efforts on key areas of governance and policy-making. I also got the opportunity to speak about the need to work together with the Global South in the context of global prosperity.” He further wrote in the post, “I will now go to Paris for the last leg of my trip to France. The events to be held in Paris include an address at ‘Viva Tech 2026’ and an interaction with people from the Indian community at a community program.”
It is noteworthy that India is actively presenting itself as the voice of the ‘Global South’ and advocating inclusive development, fair trade and equal access to technology. PM Modi’s participation in the G-7 summit is being considered a part of this broader diplomatic initiative, which will further strengthen India’s role in discussions related to global governance.
Currently, the Paris visit is expected to further strengthen India-France relations, especially in terms of technology, innovation and people-to-people ties. France has been a long-standing strategic partner of India and there has been cooperation between the two countries in the areas of defence, space, nuclear energy and cultural exchanges.
While PM Modi’s participation in ‘Viva Tech 2026’ will provide a glimpse of India’s growing digital economy and innovation ecosystem, his interaction with the Indian diaspora will highlight the role of the Indian diaspora in strengthening ties between the two countries.
