PM Modi said in Odisha – India’s development will happen only with the development of Eastern India.
Mayurbhanj (Odisha), June 20. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the program organized in the state’s Scheduled Tribe dominated district Mayurbhanj on Saturday to commemorate the completion of two years of the Odisha government, said that the central government has a clear vision that India will develop only through the development of Eastern India. He said that under this thinking, the government is working on ‘Purvodaya’ policy and Eastern India is being made the new center of development.
Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 47 thousand crores
On this occasion, PM Modi has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many important projects related to the development of Odisha. About Rs 47 thousand crore will be spent on these projects. He said that these projects related to power, roads, health, railways and education sectors will provide extensive benefits to the people of the state and will give new impetus to development.

Prime Minister Modi said that Eastern India, which was made synonymous with backwardness during the Congress rule, is today becoming the gateway to the country’s progress. Odisha is a direct witness to this positive change. Congratulating the people of the state on completion of two years of the BJP government of Odisha, he said that it is a special occasion for him to come to Mayurbhanj and receive the affection of a large number of people. The pace of development has further accelerated due to the double engine government.
Remembered the contribution of Pandit Raghunath Murmu
PM Modi paid tribute to Pandit Raghunath Murmu, who developed the ‘Ol Chiki’ script for Santhali language. He said that the Central Government has made the Constitution of India available in Santhali language and has honored many personalities from Odisha with Padma Award. He said that in the last two years, the Odisha government has also been working continuously to realize the dreams of the great personalities of the state.

PM Modi said that Odisha’s daughter has today reached the highest post in the country, which is a matter of pride for the entire state. He said that President Draupadi Murmu’s generous personality, kind-hearted nature and dedication towards national service has strengthened the identity not only of Mayurbhanj but of entire Odisha.

Paharpur will become solar village
The Prime Minister said that Paharpur village will be rapidly developed as a solar village. Under this, solar energy facility will be provided to every house in the village. He said that just as Konark Sun Temple is the special identity of Odisha, similarly Paharpur will also create a new identity as a solar village. With this, villagers will get free electricity and will also get an opportunity to earn income by selling excess electricity.
Emphasis on goals of 2036 and 2047
He said that Odisha and the country have two important milestones in the coming years. In the year 2036, Odisha will complete 100 years of formation while in 2047, India will complete 100 years of its independence. He said that the goals of development of Odisha and India are linked to each other. The stronger the economy of Odisha, the stronger India will become. He expressed confidence that with the capacity of the state and the cooperation of the people, Odisha will touch new heights of development.
