PM Modi will inaugurate PM Mitra Park today, built with Rs 1700 crore, new doors of more than 1 lakh employment will open in Warangal.

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday inaugurate the PM Mitra Park in Warangal, also known as Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) and developed under the PM Mitra scheme. Developed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 1,700 crore, it is India’s first fully functional PM Mitra Park and realizes the 5F vision (Farm to Fiber to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) of the Government of India. Strategically located adjacent to the proposed Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway (NH-163G) and close to NH-163, the park offers excellent multimodal connectivity to major railway networks and ports, ensuring seamless logistics for global trade.

Designed as a world-class industrial ecosystem, the park is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including an extensive internal road network, dedicated power substations and assured water supply. Telangana is very suitable for cotton production as 23 percent of the region is covered with fertile black soil. The region has been famous for its high quality cotton since the Nizam period. After the formation of Telangana state, the state government led by K Chandrasekhar Rao took the initiative to revive the textile sector by establishing the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, named in honor of the Kakatiya dynasty. The foundation stone of this park was laid in October 2017.

Kakatiya Mega Textile Park was selected as the first part of the seven sites approved under the framework of PM-MITRA scheme. KMTP Park has been operational for some time and has the potential to generate over one lakh direct and indirect jobs, making it an important booster for the Warangal region.
