PM Modi’s address to the nation violated the Model Code of Conduct, CPI MP wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner

New Delhi : PM Narendra Modi addressed the people of the country on Saturday and made a big attack on the entire opposition including Congress, TMC and SP for not passing the Constitution Amendment (131st Amendment) Bill related to women’s reservation. In this speech, PM Modi had said that the opposition has committed a sin by opposing this bill. They will definitely be punished for this. At the same time, CPI MP P. Santosh Kumar has accused the PM’s address of violating the model code of conduct. He has written a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner regarding this.

Rajya Sabha MP P. Santosh Kumar, in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, said, “I write to immediately draw your attention to a serious violation of the Model Code of Conduct currently in force in five states. Prime Minister and BJP leader Shri Narendra Modi’s recent address to the nation was, by any impartial assessment, fundamentally political in nature. It included partisan claims, selective talking points and direct attempts to influence public opinion on a subject which is currently under active political contest.”

He further wrote in his letter, “What is even more worrying is that this address was telecast on national public broadcasters like Doordarshan and Sansad TV. Using government resources and publicly funded platforms to broadcast what is essentially a political speech is a serious violation of electoral rules. It undermines the ‘level playing field’ which the Election Commission has a constitutional obligation to maintain during the period when the Model Code of Conduct is in force.” It happens.”

P. Santosh Kumar said, “Any failure to take cognizance of such an incident risks indicating institutional collusion and undermining public confidence in the impartiality of the Election Commission. I urge the Commission to take immediate and serious action in this matter, initiate an investigation and ensure accountability, so that the sanctity of the electoral process is maintained.”
