PM Modi’s big announcement: ‘Those who insult women power will be punished’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an emotional and aggressive address to the nation on Saturday evening. During this, he expressed deep sorrow over the failure of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ amendment bill in the Parliament. The PM said that the dream of crores of women, which the government had made sincere efforts to fulfill, was crushed by some political parties for their own selfishness. He warned in clear words that those who insult women power will definitely be punished for their actions.
“We do not lose, self-confidence is invincible”
The Prime Minister started his address with an apology. He said, “Despite all our efforts, we could not succeed and the Nari Shakti Vandan Act could not be amended. For this I apologize to all the mothers and sisters of the country.” However, he also made it clear that the government will not back down from this defeat. Taking the pledge, the PM said that our self-confidence is invincible and we will remove every obstacle that comes in the way of women’s reservation. He assured that he will die only after giving women power their rights.
Prime Minister lashed out at family based parties
In his nearly 30-minute speech, PM Modi took on the opposition, especially ‘familyist’ parties like Congress, SP, TMC and DMK. He said that it was very sad to see that when the women’s rights resolution was defeated, these parties were celebrating in the House and thumping the tables. The PM alleged that these parties have been making the same old excuses and fallacies for decades so that women’s rights can be robbed by entangling them in some technical glitch or the other.
Is the opposition afraid of strong women?
Explaining the real reason for the protest, the Prime Minister said that these parties fear that if the women of the country become empowered, their ‘familyist’ leadership will be in danger. These parties would never want any ordinary woman from outside their family to step forward and lead. The PM said, “When the interest of the party becomes bigger than the interest of the country, then the country has to suffer the consequences.” Describing the opposition parties as ‘criminals of the Constitution’ and ‘criminals of women power’, he said that the public will definitely punish those who have taken away the rights of half the population for this sin.
