PM Modi’s call – Young civil servants should play a leading role in realizing the resolution of Developed India 2047
New Delhi, June 23. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while interacting with 183 officer trainees of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 2024 batch on Tuesday, called upon them to contribute with full dedication and dedication in nation building to realize the resolution of Developed India 2047.
Speaking at the event organized at the Prime Minister’s Office (Seva Tirtha), PM Modi said that after two years of field experience and administrative training, the young officers have reached an important stage where their decisions will affect not only their career but also the future of crores of citizens. He said that the real test of public service lies in facing the real situations with honesty, sensitivity and commitment. The Prime Minister appealed to the officers to play an active role in nation building through innovation, purposeful working style and citizen-centric governance.
Gave the mantra of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’
PM Modi said that do not consider administrative files as just a paper process, but remember that behind every file are the aspirations, problems and lives of millions of people. Giving the mantra of ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’, he urged the officers to keep citizens at the center of every decision and make governance sensitive, accountable and inclusive.

Referring to the vision of Developed India 2047, the Prime Minister said that every policy and administrative decision in the coming years should contribute towards making the country a developed nation. He described self-reliant India, Make in India, expansion of manufacturing sector, energy security and creation of employment and opportunities for the youth as the main priorities of the present time.
He said that in the last decade, governance has moved from a process-based model to a result-based model. With the help of digital governance, artificial intelligence (AI) and technology, service delivery has become more transparent and accessible.
Emphasis on data based governance
Emphasizing on data-driven governance, the Prime Minister said that data should not be seen as mere numbers, but should be considered a reflection of the lives, challenges and aspirations of crores of people. He asked officials to regularly evaluate whether government policies are delivering the desired results at the ground level.
PM Modi said that officers should derive satisfaction not from their position or authority, but from the concrete and measurable results of their work. He also mentioned the increasing participation of women in nation building and pointed out that more than 40 percent of the officers in the current batch are women.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State (Personnel) Dr. Jitendra Singh, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary-2 Shaktikanta Das, Cabinet Secretary T.V. Somanathan, Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Rachna Shah, Director of LBSNAA Shriram Tarnikanti and many senior officials were present.
