New Delhi:To strengthen the bond of trust between the police and the public in the capital, Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar took the initiative of public dialogue in a different way. On November 7, the Police Commissioner himself reached Alipur police station in Outer North district and heard the problems of the common people directly by organizing a public hearing along with Diwali Milan ceremony. During this period, the police station premises became the center of complaints, suggestions and dialogue. The special thing was that as soon as the information about the arrival of the Police Commissioner was received, not only the complainants, but also a large number of villagers from the surrounding rural areas arrived with their problems and suggestions.
During the public hearing, Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar listened to the complaints of the people with seriousness and patience. He reviewed the matters concerned and ensured necessary action where immediate resolution was possible. At the same time, for the disposal of remaining complaints, clear instructions were given to the concerned officers that the cases should not be kept pending unnecessarily and action should be taken within the stipulated time.
Villagers raised issues of traffic and civic problems
In the public hearing, villagers prominently raised the local transport system, traffic on roads and other civic problems. People also put forward important suggestions related to the actual conditions of the area before the Police Commissioner. The Commissioner listened to all the suggestions seriously and recorded them for appropriate action. This initiative gave the villagers an opportunity to convey their views directly to the top police officer.
Boosted morale of policemen with Diwali wishes
On this occasion, Diwali Milan ceremony was also organized at Alipur police station. The Police Commissioner wished the local citizens a happy Diwali and encouraged them by appreciating the dedicated work of the officers and employees of the police station. He inspired the policemen to continue working with sensitivity, commitment and spirit of service towards the public.
During this, Joint Commissioner of Police of Northern Range Vijay Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Police of Outer North District and other officers were present. The visit brought the message of not just formal inspection but direct communication between the police and the public. This initiative of Delhi Police aims to strengthen transparency, accountability and citizen-centric policing.
