Police got big success in checking operation, Duddhi police arrested 01 interstate smuggler with consignment of illegal beer.

In the ongoing intensive campaign against illegal drug/liquor smuggling in Sonbhadra district, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma, guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Operation) Rishabh Runwal and close supervision of Area Officer Duddhi Rajesh Kumar Rai, Duddhi police station achieved an important success.
During the vehicle checking campaign on 23.04.2026, a suspicious car vehicle number AS 04 AE 0266 was stopped and searched near Tehsil Tiraha (Vegetable Market) located on Myorpur Road. During the search, a total of 480 cans (approximately 240 litres) of illegal Kingfisher beer in 20 boxes, estimated to be worth approximately ₹80,000, were recovered from the vehicle.
01 interstate beer smuggler Vishal Sahni, son of Vinay Sahni, resident of Wajitpur, police station Bochha, district Muzaffarpur (Bihar), aged about 24 years, was arrested from the spot. Important information related to smuggling has been obtained during the inquiry, on the basis of which further action is being taken. In the said case, legal proceedings are underway by registering a case under M.O. No. 117/2026 Section 60/63/72 Excise Act at Police Station Duddhi.
The police team that made the arrest/seizure included Inspector Shyamji Singh Yadav, Inspector Sarvesh Kumar Singh, Inspector Laxman Shankar Yadav.
