Vicious member of Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba syndicate arrested, was absconding in Nadir Shah Murder Case

Nadir Shah Murder Case: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a member of Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba crime syndicate. The accused has been identified as Saddam Hussain alias Sonu, who was absconding since September 2024 and was wanted in the Nadir Shah murder case. The accused has been arrested from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh.

According to DCP Special Cell (NDR) Praveen Kumar Tripathi, IPS, the Special Cell/NDR team led by Inspector Alok Kumar Maurya and Inspector Neetu Kumar and acting under the supervision of ACP Ashish Kumar arrested Saddam Hussain. The police team arrested the accused on 20 July 2026 from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. On his information, a pistol and three live cartridges were also recovered from Shastri Park area of ​​Delhi.

Accused of providing logistics support in Nadir Shah murder case

According to police investigation, Saddam Hussain, along with Sajid Faddi, said to be a close associate of Hashim Baba, had provided logistical support to the shooters and other accused involved in the murder of Nadir Shah. Police allege that he also helped in hiding the weapons used in the murder.

On the night of 12 September 2024, businessman and gym co-owner Nadir Shah was shot at outside the gym located in Greater Kailash-I, South Delhi. Nadir Shah was seriously injured by the bullet and later died. During the investigation, the police had revealed the alleged role of Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba crime syndicate behind this murder. According to the police, the murder was allegedly linked to an attempt at extortion.

16 accused associated with the syndicate have already been arrested in this case. Whereas, after the arrest of other accused, Saddam Hussain had absconded. He was constantly changing locations to avoid arrest. Later the court declared him a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in this case.

Has been involved in criminal cases before also

According to the police, Saddam Hussain, a resident of Amroha, currently lived in Jafrabad area of ​​Delhi and ran a children’s clothing shop. According to the police, he entered the world of crime through his friend Sohail alias Chappal, who is said to be a member of Hashim Baba gang.

In 2013, he was arrested along with Sohail Chappal in an attempt to murder case. After this, in 2018, he was arrested for allegedly demanding extortion of Rs 1 lakh from a Jafrabad businessman and in a case related to firing. According to the police, the accused has also been involved in two cases of attempt to murder related to gang war and personal rivalry.

DCP Special Cell (NDR) Praveen Kumar Tripathi, IPS said that further investigation is being done against the accused. The police are now interrogating him about his criminal network and his role in the Nadir Shah murder case.
