Political upheaval in Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif expresses desire to become Prime Minister of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has expressed his desire to become the Prime Minister of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Party chief Sharif said this would allow him to personally monitor development work in the region, where polls are scheduled to be held between July 27 and August 10. He made these remarks during an election rally in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.
Sharif on Tuesday said that occupied Jammu and Kashmir is as dear to him as his own province Punjab. “It is my second home. My ancestors came from Kashmir,” he said.
Nawaz Sharif, the elder brother of Pakistan’s prime minister, said, “If my party wins, I will ask Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to make me the Prime Minister of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir so that I can personally oversee development work in the area.” In the Jammu and Kashmir elections, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is contesting against its coalition partner Pakistan Peoples Party in the central government.
