Nagoya, Oct 3:
India’s Pranavi Urs held her nerve in a dramatic finish to clinch the women’s individual golf gold at the Asian Games.
With the contest going down to the final hole, Pranavi sank a crucial par putt on the 18th to finish one stroke ahead of Singapore’s Shannon Xuan Yin Tan and China’s Ruoning Yin.
The victory gives Pranavi a historic individual gold and makes her the first Indian woman to win an Asian Games gold in golf. She is also the first Indian golfer since Shiv Kapur in 2002 to win an Asian Games gold medal.
