Prashant Kishore took oath as MLA, registered a historic victory in Bankipur by-election.

Prashant Kishore, founder of Jan Suraj Party, an election strategist turned active politician, has started his new political journey by reaching Bihar Assembly after his historic victory in the Bankipur Assembly by-election. Amidst the huge enthusiasm of supporters, leaders and workers, he took the oath of office and secrecy as MLA before Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar. Immediately after taking oath, Prashant Kishore outlined the development of the area and made it clear that his priority is to build a new Bankipur. PK claimed that concrete arrangements will be made to provide jobs to the children of at least 10 thousand families of the area.

Big announcement of employment for unemployed youth

Just before starting his innings as assembly member, Prashant Kishore had heated up the discussion in the political circles of the state by making a big promise of connecting 10 thousand youth of Bankipur with employment arrangements.

He has appealed to the educated unemployed youth of his area to submit their biodata and CV directly to his office.

Took oath as MLA and secrecy

While answering the questions raised regarding his tours after the by-election results, Prashant Kishore made a direct attack on his opponents. He said that after winning the elections, people are considering his field trip as a ‘tour’, whereas he is not on a personal trip but is engaged in direct work of the public and solving their problems. Even before taking oath, he has been organizing public meetings in various localities of Bankipur and directly communicating to improve the systems related to ration, pension and education. Amidst the great enthusiasm of the leaders and workers, he took the oath of office and secrecy as MLA before Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar.

Victory achieved on BJP’s three decade old stronghold

In the results of Bankipur by-election held on August 3, Prashant Kishore had registered unexpected success in his first direct election test. He defeated BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar by a huge margin of 19,324 votes on this seat which has been considered a stronghold of Bharatiya Janata Party for three decades. According to the final counting data, Prashant Kishore got 64,151 votes, while BJP’s Neeraj Kumar stood second with 44,827 votes and Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Rekha Kumari stood third with 14,273 votes. With this victory, Jan Suraj Party has registered its strong presence for the first time in the legislative politics of Bihar.
