Pre-Facelift Volkswagen Taigun Gets Upto Rs 3 Lakh Discount
Volkswagen recently unveiled the facelifted version of the Taigun in the market. It comes with several cosmetic as well as feature updates. While the updated Taigun has been unveiled, the pre-facelift versions are still available at dealerships, and many of them are offering discounts on the older model before the new one arrives.
Volkswagen is offering benefits of up to Rs 3 lakh on select variants of the Taigun. The MY25 Topline MT variant of the Taigun attracts the highest discount. It is available with a Rs 2.5 lakh cash discount, along with a Rs 30,000 exchange bonus and a Rs 20,000 loyalty bonus.
The Highline Plus variant offers an Rs 80,000 cash discount on MY25 units and Rs 25,000 on MY26 models, along with a Rs 30,000 exchange bonus and a Rs 20,000 loyalty bonus. The GT Line variant of the Taigun comes with a Rs 50,000 cash discount and up to Rs 50,000 in loyalty bonuses on newer stock.

Lower Comfortline and Highline trims are attracting up to Rs 50,000 in cash support, with limited or no exchange bonuses depending on the variant.
The official unveiling of the Taigun happened recently, and the official prices for the SUV are also out. Bookings for the Taigun facelift are now open. The prices for the new Taigun facelift start at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go all the way up to Rs 19.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

When compared to the updated Skoda Kushaq, which also received an update this year, the Volkswagen Taigun’s base variant is Rs 31,000 more expensive. It should be noted that the Kushaq offers more features in the base variant than the Taigun. The VW Taigun is also more expensive than the recently launched Renault Duster.
Coming to the changes, the Taigun facelift offers a redesigned front fascia, including sleeker adaptive LED headlights, a new connecting LED light bar, and an illuminated Volkswagen logo. It also gets a new, slimmer grille and a chunkier front bumper with wide horizontal slats and a large air dam. The standard model gets chrome elements on the front, while the GT variants get blacked-out details. Depending on the variant, the SUV gets 16-17 inch wheels (steel rims and alloys).

In terms of features, the Taigun facelift gets new trims and six upholstery options, depending on the variant. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system remains the same. It now gets a larger 10.25-inch driver display, a panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging, cruise control, automatic climate control, and more.
Coming to the engine and transmission options, the Taigun facelift continues to be offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine generates 115 PS and 178 Nm of peak torque. The other option is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, which is offered with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and generates 150 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque.

If you want to buy the new and updated version with the additional features mentioned above, then the facelifted Taigun is the one you should go for. However, if you are satisfied with the features offered in the older version, this could be a great opportunity to buy one at an attractive price. If you have good negotiating skills, you might be able to get an even better deal, as dealers will be under pressure to clear existing stock.
