Preparations like ‘blackout’ war in Dehradun! Big exercise will be held tonight on the orders of Home Ministry, know complete details

Tonight is going to be something different for the residents of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. In specific parts of the city tonight on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Directorate of Civil Defense, Government of India. ‘Blackout’ And ‘Air Raid’ Practice (Dehradun Blackout Mock Drill) will be done. The purpose of this drill, which is being conducted under the supervision of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, is to test the preparedness of the administration and the public in case of any war-like situation or major disaster.

There will be a stir from 10:05 pm onwards

The administration has clarified that this drill will take place at night. at 10:05 Will start from. As soon as the clock strikes 10:05, loud sirens will start sounding in identified areas of the city. As soon as the siren sounds, street lights, park lights and public electricity system in these areas will be switched off for the next 30 minutes. During this time, along with the district administration, teams of Army, NDRF, SDRF and Civil Defense will land on the ground and test their coordination.

Maximum impact will be seen in these 4 major areas

District Magistrate Savin Bansal has chosen the four busiest and main centers of Dehradun for this important drill. If you live near or are passing through these areas, take note:

2. ISBT Campus
3. sawmill
4. Dill Raipur

There will be strict surveillance by police and administration at these places. Tehsil level officials have also been put on alert mode so that the response time can be measured accurately.

There will be 24 hour monitoring from the control room.

To make this exercise successful, ‘Emergency Operation Center’ (EOC) has been activated at the district level. Senior officers of all departments will be deployed in the control room through telecommunication and wireless. The administration says that this is not just a paper fulfillment, but a real test to measure the agility of the officials on the ground and their ability to deal with the disaster.

The administration has made a special appeal to the people of Dehradun that they should not panic at all after hearing the sound of siren or in case of sudden power failure. This is a predetermined security practice. The District Magistrate has requested the people not to spread any kind of rumor and consider it as part of a process to strengthen the security system.
