Amit Shah’s big blast: ‘Not Mamta Didi’s nephew, the son of Bengal will become the next Chief Minister’
Election mercury is at its peak in West Bengal. After the first phase of voting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a press conference in Kolkata and made a strong attack on Mamata Banerjee and the TMC government. Shah not only claimed BJP’s victory, but also tried to explain through figures that there is not a wave of change but a storm in Bengal.
Peaceful voting and signs of ‘change’ Amit Shah expressed his gratitude to the people of Bengal for the record voting in the first phase. He praised the Election Commission and the security forces. Comparing the bloody history of past elections and the current situation, Shah said that this time the violence was very less. Presenting the figures, he said that while hundreds of people were injured in the previous assembly and panchayat elections, this time the number was less than 30. According to Shah, the increased voting and peaceful process is a clear indication that the people of Bengal have abandoned fear and chosen development.
Magic figure of 110 seats and BJP’s claim of victory Shah said with confidence that “Didi is going to go and BJP is going to come.” He claimed that out of 152 seats in the first phase, BJP is going to win more than 110 seats. According to him, after the second phase it will become clear that BJP is going to form the government in Bengal with an overwhelming majority. He said that this sacred land of Tagore and Subhash Chandra Bose is now ready to be a part of the development journey led by Prime Minister Modi.
A befitting reply to Mamta on the issue of ‘outsider’ Mamata Banerjee has often targeted BJP by calling it a ‘party of outsiders’. On this, Amit Shah gave a blunt reply and said that Mamata didi should stop spreading rumours. He made it clear that the next Chief Minister of Bengal will not be an outsider. Shah promised that the command of the state would be in the hands of the one who was born in the soil of Bengal, was educated in Bengali medium and who speaks Bengali language. He sarcastically said that the Chief Minister will not be Mamata Didi’s nephew, but an ordinary BJP worker.
Fear-free environment and strictness of administration Shah patted the administration on the back for curbing rigging during elections in Bengal. He said that this time fake names have been removed from the voter list and due to the promptness of the Central Security Forces (CAPF), voters have been able to go out of their homes without any fear. Shah stressed that in the previous elections, booths were looted and workers were intimidated, but this time the Election Commission has created an environment where the people are choosing the government as per their wish.
