Price Hike: BYD India will increase the prices of electric cars, new prices will be applicable from July 1, 2026

Price Hike: China’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer BYD India has announced to increase the price of its electric cars in India. According to the company, the new prices will be applicable from July 1, 2026 and this increase will be applicable to its entire passenger electric vehicle range.

Prices will increase by 1 to 2 percent

• BYD India said that due to continuous fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates, it has become necessary to change the prices. The company will increase the price by 1 to 2 percent according to different models and variants.
• However, giving relief to the customers, the company has said that the customers making bookings during May and June 2026 will get the benefit of the current prices. For this, it will be necessary that the delivery of the vehicle be taken by 31 July 2026. The new prices will apply to bookings made after July 1, 2026.

Increasing demand for premium EVs

• Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said that despite the challenging market conditions, the company is focusing on providing safe and premium electric vehicles to Indian customers.
• According to the company, the demand for BYD’s premium electric SUVs is increasing rapidly in India. Especially BYD ATTO 3 and the new BYD SEALION 7 are receiving great response from customers.

Focus on modern technology
BYD is gaining a strong hold in the Indian market on the basis of its in-house technologies. The company’s Blade Battery technology is counted among the safest battery technologies in the world. Apart from this, modern facilities like Cell-to-Body technology and 8-in-1 electric powertrain are also being provided in the vehicles.

The company is currently providing sales and service facilities through 48 dealerships in 40 cities of India. BYD is preparing to further strengthen its network in the coming times.
