In Chirgaon of Rohru assembly constituency, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday made several big announcements for farmers, gardeners, animal herders, students and rural areas. The Chief Minister announced to increase the purchase price of apples from Rs 12 to Rs 13 per kg under the Mandi Mediation Scheme (MIS). At the same time, an increase in the support price of milk was also announced from December 1. Along with giving civil hospital status to Sandasu, it was also announced to link the schools of Jangla and Chirgaon with CBSE.
Addressing a public meeting in Chirgaon, the Chief Minister said that the government is focusing on strengthening the rural economy and increasing the income of farmers, gardeners and animal herders. He said that the government is fighting against corruption and the wealth of the state is being used in the interest of the common people.
Apple price increased, now Rs 13 per kg
The purchase price of apples purchased under MIS has been increased by Re 1 per kg. Now gardeners will get Rs 13 per kg for apples instead of Rs 12. The Chief Minister said that the government has implemented the Universal Carton System in the interest of gardeners and support price is also being given to the products of natural farming. The Chief Minister said that the Congress government is continuously taking steps to strengthen the economy of villages. Increasing the procurement price of apples was said to be part of this policy.
Milk prices increase again
The Chief Minister also made a big announcement for the cattle rearers. He said that the support price of milk will be increased from December 1. The Chief Minister claimed that compared to the previous governments, the present government has made a historic increase in the support price of milk. He said that the increase in milk prices will help in increasing the income of women and families associated with animal husbandry in rural areas. The government aims to strengthen the rural economy.
The Chief Minister also made several institutional announcements for Rohru region. It was announced to upgrade the Community Health Center of Sandasu to Civil Hospital. It was announced to open sub-tehsil in Samarkot. The Chief Minister also announced to conduct a survey for opening an SDM office in Chirgaon and to convert the schools of Jangla and Chirgaon into CBSE schools. The Chief Minister said that to increase the number of students in government schools and to provide quality education, the government is also working on Schools of Excellence along with CBSE schools. 300 schools of excellence are being built in the state.

Pension to 1.36 lakh employees, Rs 1500 to women
The Chief Minister also mentioned the welfare schemes of the government. He said that the Congress government has restored the old pension scheme for 1.36 lakh government employees and in future other employees will also be brought under its ambit. Under the 'Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar' scheme, he talked about giving monthly pension of Rs 1500 to the eligible women and providing 300 units of electricity to the eligible families.
Referring to the disaster affected families, the Chief Minister said that 23 thousand houses were completely damaged during the disaster in the state. The government has increased the financial assistance for these families from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh and now to Rs 8 lakh.
Sukhu's attack on corruption, said – will not allow property to be looted
Attacking the BJP, the Chief Minister said that the present government is closing the 'thieves' doors of corruption. He alleged that during the previous BJP government, industrialists were benefited, while the Congress government was using the wealth of the state in the interest of the general public.
He said that as long as he is the Chief Minister, the wealth of the state will neither be looted nor allowed to be looted. On BJP's questions regarding the Chief Minister's office, he said that this is the office to solve the problems of the common people.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the achievements of the government in defending the interests of the state in the Supreme Court in the Wild Flower Hall and JSW cases and the Kishau Multipurpose Project. He claimed that the Kishau project is likely to generate an income of around Rs 1200 to 1500 crore to the Himachal treasury.

Government's focus on education also
The Chief Minister said that in the year 2021, Himachal was at 21st place in terms of quality education, whereas due to the efforts of the government, the state has now reached the fifth place. He said that education in English medium has been started in government schools from class one. He claimed that more than 150 CBSE schools have been opened in the state and 1500 teachers have been appointed in them. He also mentioned that after the implementation of CBSE system in a school in Rohru, the number of students increased by more than 500 in one year.
On this occasion, local MLA Mohan Lal Brakta, Block Congress President Shivpal Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh and Panchayat representatives, representatives of Mahila Mandals and self-help groups were present.
