Netflix has revealed new details about Pride and Prejudiceits highly anticipated TV show adaptation of Jane Austen’s fantastic romantic world. The upcoming miniseries is set to bring a fresh take on the story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, with new promotional material offering a closer look at the period drama.
Pride and Prejudice’s six-episode series will premiere globally on Netflix on December 11, 2026. The newly released character posters and first-look photos feature Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin (The Crown) as Elizabeth Bennet and SAG Award nominee Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) as Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.
The images evoke the Regency-era setting and hint at the complex chemistry between Austen’s iconic characters. The initial imagery reveals a grounded approach to Regency-era England. It frames the central pair against coastal estates and sprawling countryside vistas.
The adaptation aims to infuse Austen’s social commentary with emotional intimacy while retaining the core romance of the 1813 novel.
The new photos also show more of the cast in period costumes. Enola Holmes star Louis Partridge plays George Wickham, while BAFTA winner Jamie Demetriou plays Mr. Collins. Heartstopper star Rhea Norwood plays Lydia Bennet, Elizabeth’s younger sister.
What to know about Netflix’s Pride & Prejudice adaptation
Created and written by award-winning author and screenwriter Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love), the six-episode limited series is directed by BAFTA nominee Euros Lyn (Heartstopper). Alderton, alongside Laura Hastings-Smith and Working Title Television’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, is the executive producer.
Corrin and Lowden are joined by Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, and Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
Netflix’s Pride & Prejudice will expand Austen’s story across a serialized format. The upcoming release will give its characters, relationships, and themes of class, family duty, and social expectations more room to develop ahead of its December premiere.
