Prime Minister Modi announced free online coaching for students

New Delhi, 16 August 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced free online coaching for students from poor and middle class families. In his address to the nation, the Prime Minister had said that the objective of this initiative is to reduce the financial burden on students preparing for competitive examinations. He had added that the best teachers of the country will play an important role in making quality education accessible to all. The Prime Minister said that this step will save thousands of crores of rupees for middle class families, which would otherwise have been spent on coaching.

The Prime Minister had said that the government has decided to train one crore youth in AI (Artificial Intelligence) skills during the next year. He said that this will enable the youth to lead India in the global AI field. The Prime Minister further added that the country needs to focus mainly on three things: expenditure, quality and skills.

The Prime Minister had said that a talent search campaign will be started in villages, cities and schools to identify the talent of children aged between 5 to 15 years. He said that after identifying the sports talent of the children, they will be given special training, so that they can become skilled players for the country. The Prime Minister had noted that today India is making a strong identity for itself in the world of sports. He mentioned that India will host the Commonwealth Games in 2030.
