Prime Minister Modi gave 3T mantra in the Head of Mission Conference, Foreign Minister said this is important for diplomacy
New Delhi, May 1. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the 11th Heads of Mission (HoM) conference as a great moment. According to the External Affairs Minister, the way the PM underlined the increasing importance of trade, technology and tourism (Trade, Technology and Tourism) – “3T” – in India’s diplomacy is important. In the X post, Jaishankar expressed his views. Said that the discussions held at the conference also focused on the need for Neighborhood First Policy, deeper engagement with NRIs and de-risking with flexibility.
“The conference benefited from the insights of luminaries from the worlds of government, business and technology. The active exchange of ideas during its various sessions was in line with the theme: ‘Reforming Indian Diplomacy for 2047’,” he wrote in a post. PM Modi had discussed foreign policy at the ‘Heads of Missions Conference’ in New Delhi on Thursday. The 11th Heads of Missions (HoM) Conference was organized by the Ministry of External Affairs from April 28-30 at the National Agricultural Science Complex, Pusa Road, New Delhi.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this year’s HOM conference was focused on the theme “Reforming Indian Diplomacy to 2047”. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the heads of missions and gave necessary advice to promote India’s national interests abroad. “We discussed in detail how to strengthen India’s global engagement by taking forward trade, technology and strategic partnerships and deepening ties with the diaspora,” PM Modi wrote in the ex-post.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Prime Minister Modi addressed the 11th Heads of Mission Conference organized in New Delhi on the theme ‘Reforming Indian Diplomacy for 2047’. The Prime Minister was given presentations on future-ready diplomacy, promoting the three third factors (trade, technology and tourism) and broadening the India story.
He also heard views from the Heads of Mission on strengthening India’s global engagement and perspectives from senior and young diplomats. The Prime Minister also shared his views and suggestions and provided guidance on India’s diplomatic engagement to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047. At the conference, India’s Ambassadors, High Commissioners and senior officials deliberated on enhancing the country’s diplomatic reach amid the rapidly changing global scenario.

Over the course of three days, HOM participated in yoga sessions, brainstorming sessions, table top exercises and discussions on various geopolitical developments, emerging technologies, UTI (trade, technology and tourism), India story and future-ready diplomacy. Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had given the inaugural address on 29 April.
