Prithvi Shaw and his fiancee actress Aakriti Agarwal have decided to call off their engagement with mutual consent on Thursday. Social media influencer Aakriti confirmed this through social media. He explained about his decision and said that according to him there was no future left for this relationship. Both of them had different expectations and responsibilities and considering the prevailing circumstances, they decided to part ways.
Aakriti Aggarwal shared an emotional message
Indian cricketers Prithvi Shaw and Aakriti Agarwal got publicly engaged in March 2026. However, within 6 months they have decided to separate. They have decided to break the engagement with mutual consent. While sharing the post on Instagram, Aakriti wrote, “With a heavy heart, I want to tell you that my fiance and I are now separating. Our thoughts and circumstances regarding life ahead are different, hence we have taken this decision.
He further wrote, ‘No matter how much we love and care for each other, we have now accepted that our paths are not the same. Considering the responsibilities and current circumstances, both of us have jointly decided to part ways.
Aakriti Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw did not give any information about the circumstances leading to their separation. But he has wished Prithvi all the best for the future. “Moving forward, I truly wish the best for both of us, peace and happiness in the future,” she wrote.
Aakriti said, “In these difficult times, we request everyone to respect our privacy and avoid making any guesses or speculations about the reasons behind our decision. Thank you for your understanding and respecting our situation.”
Prithvi Shaw’s cricket career
Young batsman Prithvi Shaw was once considered the rising star of the Indian team and was compared with many big legends, but due to poor form and wrong reasons, he was dropped from the Indian team and has not been successful in coming back yet. He scored a century for India on his Test debut in 2018 and made headlines. In recent years, teams have distanced themselves from him due to his fitness and form. He remained unsold in IPL 2025 and before that Mumbai had dropped him from their team. However, he was included by Delhi Capitals in their team for IPL 2026. He scored 339 runs while playing 5 matches in Test for India. In ODI he scored 189 runs in 6 matches. He got a chance to play only one match in T20 International.
