The couple got engaged this year on March 8, 2026. However, on September 17, 2026, about 6 months after the engagement, Aakriti shared the news of separation on social media. Within a month of this public announcement of the breakup, talks took place between the two and the matter was resolved.

Aakriti admitted in her statement ‘A Personal Clarification’ that she had taken the decision after being influenced by the opinions of outsiders and close acquaintances. She admitted that the decision to break off the engagement without any direct and honest conversation was wrong, for which she herself takes responsibility.
