Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who has proven her acting prowess from Bollywood to Hollywood, has recently made many big and interesting revelations about her career and personal life. Priyanka, who attended the Cannes Lions conference held in France, spoke openly about her experiences of working in Hollywood, her production house and the changes in her life after becoming a mother. He candidly admitted that his work in Hollywood so far pales in comparison to the work he has done in Indian cinema.
Why has Hollywood career faded in front of Bollywood?
Priyanka Chopra has been active in Hollywood for the last decade and has been a part of many big international projects, but she believes that her best work in English cinema is yet to come. Comparing her two careers, she said, “I have worked with the best filmmakers and veteran actors in my Hindi film career. There, I got the opportunity to tell amazing stories and test my acting skills in different genres. In contrast, I haven’t really worked that much in Hollywood or English language cinema yet.”
Remembered the struggle of the early days
Recalling her early days, Priyanka said that when she entered the film industry, the path was not so easy for outsiders. His parents were doctors and they had no connection with the film world, due to which it took him a lot of time in the beginning to understand how to move forward in this industry.
Said this about global cinema
Referring to the conservative thinking of that era, Priyanka said, “In the early days of my career, I was often interrupted that Indian cinema would never be able to become global like Hollywood, because our films are not in English and not everyone understands Hindi, Telugu, Marathi or other Indian languages.” However, today with the advent of streaming platforms and the audience’s perspective after the Covid-19 pandemic, this thinking has completely changed and now even regional stories are becoming global.

Purpose of opening a production house
Praising today’s digital era, Priyanka said that now the barriers in the industry for new artists and producers have reduced considerably. Giving the example of the successful low-budget horror film ‘Obsession’, he said that in today’s time your ‘idea’ is your biggest asset. If you have a good idea, you can shoot it and put it on YouTube and that too can become a big hit.
Priyanka told that she also started her production house so that she can help those talented and new filmmakers who have great ideas but do not have the right resources or the right contacts.
Life changed after becoming a mother
Apart from her career, Priyanka also spoke openly about her personal life and her responsibilities as a working mother. He said that after the arrival of daughter Malti Mary, his life priorities have completely changed.
Priyanka said, “Now I don’t just pack my things and go out to watch movies. I no longer do five movies a year like before, nor do I travel unnecessarily. Now I have become very selective about my time and the people I live with. Ever since I have started managing my mother’s life myself, my respect for my mother has increased more than ever before.”
