Proposal for establishment of All India Ayurveda Institute in Chhattisgarh, CM Sai meets Union Home Minister Amit Shah

New Delhi. In order to develop Chhattisgarh as a national center of Ayurveda medicine, research and higher education, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah at Dutva Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday. During this, the Chief Minister, while discussing in detail the development, public welfare and various contemporary issues of the state, urged for the establishment of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Chhattisgarh. During the meeting, the Chief Minister was also accompanied by Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.

The Chief Minister told the Home Minister that the All India Ayurveda Institutes operating in New Delhi and Panaji have established themselves as centers of excellence for Ayurveda-based medicine, research and innovation in the country. These institutions have given a new direction to health services by combining modern science and traditional medicine and have produced a large number of skilled Ayurveda doctors and researchers.

Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is a state rich in natural resources and medicinal wealth. A large part of the state is forest covered, where many rare medicinal plants and herbs are naturally available. Tribal areas also have a rich heritage of traditional medicinal knowledge. In such a situation, the establishment of All India Ayurveda Institute here can play an important role in taking Ayurveda medicine and research to new heights.

Wide area of ​​Central India will benefit

He said that with the establishment of AIIA, high level health facilities will be available to the people of the state, while the youth will get opportunities for study, teaching and research in a national level institute. This will promote Ayurveda based medical education and Chhattisgarh will establish a new identity in the field of health, education and research. The Chief Minister also said that the benefits of the institute will not be limited to Chhattisgarh only, but will extend to the wider region of Central India. Citizens of neighboring states will also be able to avail the benefits of better Ayurvedic treatment and research facilities.

Amit Shah assured all possible cooperation

Referring to the announcement of establishment of three new All India Ayurveda Institutes in the country in the Union Budget 2026, SAI urged that one of these institutes should be provided to Chhattisgarh. He said that this institute will not only strengthen the health services in the state but will also give a new impetus to employment, research and knowledge based development. During the meeting, the Chief Minister also informed the Union Home Minister about the ongoing development works, infrastructure expansion and progress of public welfare schemes in the remote areas of the state including Bastar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated the efforts being made for development and public welfare in the state and assured all possible cooperation from the Central Government.
