CJP Protest Delhi: Amidst the opposition's protest against the Chief Election Commissioner and the process of SIR in the voter list, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has also announced a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 10. However, Delhi Police has refused to allow the demonstration. Despite this, CJP has talked about protesting. In view of the situation, Delhi Police has tightened security arrangements in the capital.
Delhi Police alert regarding CJP protest
DCP Srishti Pandey of Delhi Police said that the police is fully prepared for the proposed CJP protest on October 10. He said that necessary number of police forces have been deployed and all security related arrangements have been completed.
The DCP appealed to the people not to get misled by anyone and join the illegal demonstration. He also warned the people joining the protest not to damage public property and not to indulge in any violence with policemen.
'Permission has not been given for demonstration'
According to Delhi Police, permission has not been granted for CJP's proposed demonstration. DCP Srishti Pandey clarified that this demonstration is not allowed at any place in Delhi including Jantar Mantar. He said that due to the implementation of Section 163, any kind of gathering will be considered illegal and necessary legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules.
There was violence in the July demonstration
According to the police, a situation of violence was witnessed during the CJP protest last July. Keeping this in mind, this time the security system has been further strengthened.
Delhi Police has appealed to the people to stay away from illegal gatherings and give priority to the safety of themselves and their families. Police have warned that people may have to face legal action in the long run if they participate in illegal demonstrations.
