India’s high-speed rail ambitions have received a significant boost, with Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) announcing that the first prototype coach body for the country’s indigenous bullet train project is expected to be ready by August 2026. The development marks an important milestone in India’s efforts to build domestic capabilities for high-speed rail technology and reduce dependence on imports.
