Punjab News: To curb the problem of stubble burning in Punjab and promote scientific management of crop residues, the government has released subsidy on the purchase of Crop Residue Management (CRM) machines. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian informed that in the current Kharif season the farmers of the state have so far 16,227 CRM machines Have purchased. Review on availability of fertilizer for Rabi season
The availability of fertilizer for Rabi season was also reviewed in the meeting. Agriculture Department officials said that at present in the state More than 3.92 lakh metric tons of urea And 5 lakh metric tons DAP Stock is available.
The Minister directed the officials to ensure timely and smooth supply of fertilizers to the farmers. Also asked to take strict action against any kind of unnecessary tagging or other irregularities with fertilizer.
Advice on adopting balanced nutrition management
The Agriculture Minister advised farmers to adopt balanced nutrient management to maintain soil health. To reduce excessive dependence on DAP TSP, NPK and SSP Emphasis was also laid on the use of alternative fertilizers.
