Punjab Transfers 8 IAS Officers in a Fresh Administrative Shake-Up – THE LIST

The Punjab Government on Tuesday ordered the transfer and fresh posting of eight IAS officers with immediate effect as part of an administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance across key departments. The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel with the approval of the Governor of Punjab.

According to the orders, Neelima, IAS (2008)who was serving as Secretary, Home Affairshas been appointed Secretary, Personnel. She has also been given the additional charge of Secretary, Vigilance against a vacant post.

Sakshi Sawhney, IAS (2014)who is Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare and Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Punjabwill continue to hold both assignments. However, she has been assigned the additional charge of Nodal Officer, Anti-Drug Campaignrelieving Sanyam Aggarwal, IASof the responsibility. She has simultaneously been relieved of the additional charge of Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority (PUDA).

In another key change, Sandeep Rishi, IAS (2015)currently serving as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandharhas been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing and Urban Development for appointment as Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagarreplacing Sandeep Kumar, IAS.

Parminder Pal Singh, IAS (2016) has been shifted from the post of Special Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training to Special Secretary, Home Affairs.

Neeru Katyal Gupta, IAS (2016)currently Special Secretary, General Administration & Coordinationhas been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing and Urban Development for appointment as Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority (PUDA)replacing Sakshi Sawhney. She has also been entrusted with the additional charge of Director, Town and Country Planningrelieving Sandeep Kumar, IASof the additional charge.

Nikas Kumar, IAS (2020)who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpurhas been posted as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandharreplacing Sandeep Rishi. His services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Local Government.

Among the younger officers, Sonam, IAS (2023)who was posted in the Department of Excise & Taxation and also holding the additional charge of Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patialahas been appointed Additional Commissioner, Taxation-I, Patialarelieving Jitendra Jorwal, IASof the additional charge. She will continue to hold the additional charge of Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala.

Rakesh Kumar Meena, IAS (2023) has been transferred from the post of Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bathindaand appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpurreplacing Nikas Kumar, IAS.

The government has directed all the officers concerned to join their new assignments immediately. It has further clarified that any officer not assigned a fresh posting shall report to the Secretary, Personnelwhile departments concerned will make internal arrangements to manage work arising out of vacancies created by the transfers. The orders were issued by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha.
