Purulia’s green Senwati hills are joining Bengal tourism! Do you know what is surrounded by forest in this township?
A long hill range with small hills. And across that hill is green dense forest. And the shower in the chest of that forest. Chirping of birds during the day. And in the evening, the sounds of wild animals are heard. In this forest there are elephants, leopards and even bears. So there is a huge potential for tourism in such a rich bio-diversity forest. So what is going to be added to Bengal’s tourism in the state, Senwati hills and forests touching Jharkhand! Purulia district administration sources gave such indications after a recent visit by Purulia MP Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato, District Magistrate Sudhir Kontham, Additional District Commissioner (Land and Land Reforms), Sub-Divisional Commissioner, BDO and Chief Forest Officer (South-West Circle) Rana Dutt.
Apart from Senwati Pahar-Jungle of Kalma Bit of Jhalda Forest Division of Purulia Forest Division, they also visited Kariyar Forest of Simni Bit of Kotshila Forest Division. The forest department briefed the MP on the ecological importance of the naturally forested area. This area is completely uninhabited. Therefore, those hills and hills are covered with forest and are said to be rich in biodiversity. But after the inspection, the administration, forest department, public representatives did not want to say anything about this.
But this hill becomes greener during the monsoon season. There are only a few families of the Birhor tribe near this hill in Hensahatu village panchayat area of Jhalda block one. Besides, there is only forest around. It is not that tourists and photographers do not visit the area. But the erstwhile Trinamool government did not have any plans or even thoughts about tourism to save the nature of these mountains and forests. After the visit of the MPs, the idea and initial planning to develop sustainable and nature-based tourism by ensuring long-term conservation in environmentally sensitive forest areas has started in the administration.
