Uttarakhand News: A very special and inspiring atmosphere was seen on Tuesday in the Secretariat complex located in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited various stalls set up by women self-help groups under the Sashakt Brahm Utsav organized at the Secretariat and purchased local products from there. The Chief Minister himself went ahead and bought traditional and mountain products to give the message that promoting one's roots, culture and local skills is the first responsibility of every citizen. During this, he appealed to the people of the state to make locally produced goods their first choice in the coming festivals and contribute in taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolution of Vocal for Local to the people.

During the festival organized at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister took a detailed look at the traditional hill grains, handicrafts, decorative items and items of daily use displayed on the stalls. He said that the products being prepared by the mother power of Uttarakhand through self-help groups are not just ordinary items, but they are the true identity of our rich culture, old tradition and hard work of women. When a citizen buys these products, he or she is not just taking home an item, but respecting the mountain tradition and the sweat of the women.

During the conversation, the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on the fact that women associated with self-help groups are today becoming the backbone of the state's economy. He said that when we buy goods manufactured around us, its direct benefits reach that rural family. This provides financial support to women artisans and increases their self-confidence. This empowerment of women strengthens the entire family and society. The Chief Minister said that our small effort can bring a big smile on a woman's face and make her self-reliant.
Give local gifts to your loved ones on festivals
Referring to the festive season, the Chief Minister said that this is the time to share our happiness with our loved ones. In such a situation, if we give priority to local products for gifting and household items, it will bring new glory to our local markets. He urged the people of the state to buy only lamps, candles, decorative items, traditional sweets and handicrafts made by local artisans this time on Diwali and all other festivals. He said that every purchase boosts the state's economy and keeps the flow of money among its own people.
Vocal for local will make Uttarakhand self-reliant
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Vocal for Local campaign across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought a new revolution. Today the whole country and the world is recognizing the quality of the indigenous and traditional products which were ignored earlier. The state government is also continuously running schemes to provide better markets to women groups, small artisans, weavers and rural entrepreneurs. The government's effort is to directly connect the best products produced in villages to big cities and national level markets, so that the role of middlemen is eliminated and the producer gets full benefits.
Resolve to adopt local products emerged as a public campaign
The Chief Minister appealed to every section of the state to not only buy local goods themselves but also inspire their relatives, neighbors and friends to do so.
