Putin’s support, attack on America, Iran rejected Trump’s excessive conditions, hopes of ceasefire in the Gulf dim.
News India Live, Digital Desk: There has been a big stir amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East and the stalled diplomacy between America and Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, Russia. In this meeting, Putin has given his full support to Iran and assured all possible help in restoring peace. Aragchi has blamed US President Donald Trump’s ‘extreme demands’ for the failure of the talks. Trump’s ‘harsh conditions’ and deadlock in the talks. No concrete result has been achieved in the peace talks being mediated by Pakistan in Islamabad. Aragchi made it clear that the conditions put forward by America such as completely stopping uranium enrichment and handing over reserves are not acceptable to Iran. According to Aragchi, “Despite good progress, the talks were derailed due to America’s wrong thinking and illegitimate demands.” Here, Trump canceled the visit of his envoys to Pakistan and said that if Iran wants to talk, it should call directly. Putin’s support and strategic alliance Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his meeting with Aragchi, said that Moscow will do everything that is in Iran’s interests for peace in the region. Putin expressed hope that the Iranian people will successfully come out of this ‘difficult period’. The two countries have pledged to further strengthen their strategic ties, pointing to a new global pole amid Western sanctions. Strait of Hormuz: Iran’s ‘weapon’ Iran has made a new proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz, postponing the nuclear issue for later and first lifting the maritime blockade and ending the war. However, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have made it clear that control over Hormuz is their ‘definite strategy’. They are also considering a plan to charge a toll of $ 2 million on each passing tanker, which has caused panic in the global energy market. Asian countries’ attitude and oil crisis Amid the ‘energy emergency’ created due to the US-Iran war, many Asian countries are now turning to Russian oil and fuel. Due to this, the structure of global energy supply is changing and Russia’s sphere of influence is increasing. The Trump administration is currently trying to break Iran’s economic back through maritime blockade, while Iran is calling it ‘piracy’.
