Question to Modi? Suspend Norwegian female journalist’s Facebook-Instagram account
Norwegian journalist Helle Ling asked Narendra Modi at a press conference in Oslo. The subject was freedom of the press. The Prime Minister of India left the conference room without answering. A fierce political debate was created around that incident. As soon as he lost his temper, new allegations came forward. Ling claimed that his Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended after the incident.
After being blocked from using Instagram for a whole day, Ling saw that the account had been closed. However, the journalist from Norway was not broken at all for this. In X, he wrote, “Questioning the freedom of the press, it must be worth a penny. But a very small price. I have never had such an experience before.” Along with his post, Ling also shared a screenshot of the ‘suspension notice’ on his Instagram account. Later, the journalist made another post. There he said that many netizens tried to contact him on the meta platform. Many tried to inform him that Ling’s Facebook and Instagram accounts were showing ‘suspended’. Ling wrote, “Lots of Indians are also trying to contact me. I want to reply but can’t now. But I will reply even if it’s late. May my accounts be activated first. Hope to get the accounts back soon.”
Incidentally, the incident started during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Norway. At a joint press conference in Oslo, Ling raised questions about the freedom of the press to the Prime Minister of India. He said, “The country that is the highest in the world in terms of freedom of the press, is being questioned by them, why are you not answering?” But Ling claims, Modi left the room without directly answering his questions. However, the Indian Embassy in Norway later invited Ling to Radism Blue Plaza Hotel. Foreign Secretary (West) CB George held a press conference there at night regarding the Prime Minister’s visit. Claims that links are welcome to ask questions there.
