Mirzapur.
Mirzapur. Questions have started being raised regarding the implementation of government schemes in Gram Panchayat Bhitha of Halia development block. The status of development works is being discussed in the block chief's village itself. Villagers say that the government is working towards the development of villages and providing basic facilities to the common people.
Various schemes are being run, but questions are being raised on the ground reality of these schemes in Bhitha village.
Dissatisfaction is being reported among the villagers regarding the status of various development works including community toilet, RRC Centre, Annapurna Bhawan and funeral ground in the Gram Panchayat. It is alleged that despite paper fulfillment in many schemes, the expected results are not achieved on ground.
Facilities are not visible. In such a situation, a demand may arise to investigate the quality and usefulness of the work done with government money.
Villagers say that the government is making continuous efforts to make the villages clean, beautiful and convenient. For this, various construction works are done at the Panchayat level at a cost of lakhs of rupees.
So that the villagers can get necessary facilities in the village itself. But if proper maintenance and utilization of construction works is not ensured, the purpose of government schemes remains unfulfilled.
Scrutiny of the schemes will reveal the real situation
To clarify the actual status of other development works including community toilet, RRC Centre, Annapurna Bhawan and funeral ground, it is necessary to conduct on-site inspection by the concerned department. Also, the amount spent on construction works, quality of works and facilities available on site should be matched with the records.
Now the question is that when the government is running schemes for the development of villages, to what extent are the villagers in Gram Panchayat Bhitha getting the benefits of these schemes? Will the deficiencies be rectified by investigation by the concerned authorities or will the villagers continue to face similar problems?
