R Madhavan says ‘Dhurandhar’ changed his perspective on cinema

R Madhavan recently offered a sneak peek into the “peak detailing” in Dhurandhar after the project became a blockbuster hit.

The 56-year-old actor, who garnered recognition for his portrayal of Ajay Sanyal in the high-octane thriller, made a surprising confession about Aditya Dhar’s directorial venture.

In an exclusive conversation with Gulte.com, the 3 Idiots star heaped praise on the director for investing heavily in the film’s meticulous detailing.

Speaking to the outlet, he revealed, “Can you imagine, when you’re making a project of this length, which is almost eight hours, to actually invest time to put detailing that you know might be missed? That’s insane. It could be missed, right? At the back, everything that is adding to storytelling. Now, if somebody was told before the film that they spent ₹10 crore extra only towards this peak detailing, they’d say, ‘You’re made. Who sees all that? Nobody sees. It won’t be seen.’ I would have said it.”

It is pertinent to mention that fans have applauded Dhar’s meticulous attention to detail in the film by using the phrase “peak detailing” in several memes online.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar, which was a two-part franchise, emerged as one of Indian cinema’s biggest successes grossing over ₹3,000 crore worldwide.

The franchise also featured Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles.

For the unversed, Madhavan is currently gearing up for the biographical drama GDN, which is slated for release on Friday, August 7.
